  • Total Time: 65
  • Yield: 8 slices

Ingredients

✓ 1/3 cup brown sugar
✓ 1 tbsp cinnamon
✓ 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
✓ 1 cup brown sugar
✓ 1 tbsp baking powder
✓ 1/2 tsp salt
✓ 1 egg
✓ 1 tsp vanilla extract
✓ 3/4 cup milk
✓ 1/3 cup melted butter
✓ 1/2 cup sourdough discard
✓ 1/2 cup powdered sugar
✓ 1 tbsp milk
✓ 1/8 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

✓ In a large bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon.

✓ Add all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt; stir well to combine.

✓ Beat in egg until smooth then add remaining ingredients like melted butter & sourdough discard. Knead gently but thoroughly.

✓ Let dough rest for at least 15 minutes before shaping into a loaf or rolls.

✓ Bake preheated oven set to 350°F (175°C) for about 45 mins until golden brown and fully cooked inside when tested with toothpick.

✓ Cool on wire rack completely then dust lightly powdered sugar mixed with milk & vanilla extract.

Notes

Ensure your oven preheats properly before baking. Let the dough rest after mixing ingredients as it helps in better hydration leading to even rise during cooking.
