Ingredients
✓ 2 cups crumbled paneer
✓ 1 cup green peas
✓ 3 medium onions, finely chopped
✓ 4 tomatoes, chopped
✓ 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
✓ 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
✓ 1 teaspoon coriander powder
✓ 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
✓ 1 teaspoon garam masala
✓ Salt to taste
✓ 2 green chilies, finely chopped (optional)
✓ 1/2 cup vegetable oil
✓ 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
✓ 1/4 cup chopped cilantro (for garnish)
✓ 1/2 cup water or vegetable broth (for adjusting consistency)
Instructions
✓ Start by cutting the paneer into bite-sized cubes and place them in a bowl. Sprinkle some salt over the cubes to enhance their flavor.
✓ Bring a pot of water to a boil, add the green peas, and cook for 2 minutes or until just tender. Drain and set aside.
✓ Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the cumin seeds and let them sizzle for a few seconds.
✓ Add the finely chopped onions to the pan and sauté until it turns golden brown and translucent.
✓ Stir in the chopped tomatoes and cook on medium heat for 5 minutes or until they start breaking down, creating a smooth sauce.
✓ Mix in the ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, garam masala, salt to taste, and green chilies (if using). Stir well to combine.
✓ Gently fold in the paneer cubes and cooked peas into the tomato mixture. Cook for 5 minutes or until the paneer is heated through.
✓ If you prefer a thicker gravy, add 1/2 cup of water or vegetable broth to adjust the consistency. Let it simmer for another 2-3 minutes.
✓ Once everything is well combined and cooked, remove from heat. Garnish with chopped cilantro before serving.
Notes
Ensure the paneer is at room temperature to maintain its texture. Do not overcook the peas to preserve their color and freshness. Adjust spice levels according to personal preference.
