A twist on the classic Philly cheesesteak using ground beef, sautéed onions and bell peppers, and melted provolone cheese on a hoagie roll.

Ingredients

✓ 1 lb ground beef
✓ 1 medium onion (finely chopped)
✓ 1 green bell pepper (finely chopped)
✓ 2 cloves garlic (minced)
✓ 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
✓ Salt and pepper (to taste)
✓ 4 hoagie rolls (or sub rolls)
✓ 8 slices provolone cheese (or Cheez Whiz)

Instructions

✓ Finely chop the onion and green bell pepper

✓ Mince the garlic cloves

✓ Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat

✓ Sauté the onion and bell pepper until softened

✓ Add garlic and cook for an additional minute

✓ Add ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up as it cooks

✓ Season with Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper

✓ Spoon the beef mixture onto hoagie rolls

✓ Top with provolone cheese and broil until melted

Notes

Can be made ahead and refrigerated for up to 24 hours. Freeze cooked beef mixture for up to 3 months.
