Description
Teriyaki Tofu Stir-Fry is a delicious plant-based dinner featuring crispy tofu coated in a sticky teriyaki glaze, complemented by vibrant vegetables like broccoli and bell peppers, and garnished with sesame seeds.
Ingredients
- 1 block of firm tofu, pressed and cubed
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
- 2 tablespoons teriyaki sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
Instructions
- Press the tofu to remove excess moisture, then cut it into cubes.
- In a bowl, mix the tofu cubes with soy sauce, sesame oil, and cornstarch until well coated.
- Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat and add the tofu cubes. Cook until they are golden and crispy on all sides. Remove from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, add garlic and ginger, sauté for a minute until fragrant.
- Add broccoli and bell peppers to the pan, stir-fry for 5-7 minutes until they are tender-crisp.
- Return the tofu to the pan and pour in the teriyaki sauce. Stir well to coat everything evenly.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds over the stir-fry and toss to combine.
- Serve hot, garnished with additional sesame seeds if desired.
Notes
- For extra flavor, marinate the tofu in the soy sauce mixture for 30 minutes before cooking.
- Adjust the amount of teriyaki sauce to taste.
- Serve with steamed rice or noodles for a complete meal.
