Description
Sweet Chili Tofu Stir-Fry is a delightful Asian dinner dish that combines sticky, sweet, and spicy flavors with tofu, broccoli, and bell peppers.
Ingredients
- 1 block of firm tofu, pressed and cubed
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
- 1/2 cup sweet chili sauce
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooked rice, for serving
Instructions
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.
- Add the cubed tofu and cook until golden brown on all sides. Remove from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, add the remaining tablespoon of oil.
- Add the broccoli florets and sliced bell peppers. Stir-fry for 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
- In a small bowl, mix together the sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, garlic, and ginger.
- Return the tofu to the pan and pour the sauce over the tofu and vegetables.
- Toss everything together to coat evenly and cook for another 2-3 minutes until heated through.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve the stir-fry over cooked rice.
Notes
- For extra heat, add a pinch of red pepper flakes.
- Use tamari instead of soy sauce for a gluten-free option.
