Description

Sweet Chili Tofu Stir-Fry is a delightful Asian dinner dish that combines sticky, sweet, and spicy flavors with tofu, broccoli, and bell peppers.


Ingredients

  • 1 block of firm tofu, pressed and cubed
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
  • 1/2 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked rice, for serving


Instructions

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the cubed tofu and cook until golden brown on all sides. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, add the remaining tablespoon of oil.
  4. Add the broccoli florets and sliced bell peppers. Stir-fry for 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
  5. In a small bowl, mix together the sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, garlic, and ginger.
  6. Return the tofu to the pan and pour the sauce over the tofu and vegetables.
  7. Toss everything together to coat evenly and cook for another 2-3 minutes until heated through.
  8. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  9. Serve the stir-fry over cooked rice.

Notes

  • For extra heat, add a pinch of red pepper flakes.
  • Use tamari instead of soy sauce for a gluten-free option.
