Description

Juicy and flavorful spicy black bean burgers that are perfect for a plant-based dinner.


Ingredients

  • 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 cup corn kernels
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil


Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mash the black beans with a fork until mostly smooth.
  2. Add corn, breadcrumbs, onion, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to the mashed beans. Mix until well combined.
  3. Form the mixture into patties.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  5. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and heated through.
  6. Serve the patties on buns with your favorite toppings.

Notes

  • For extra spice, add a pinch of cayenne pepper.
  • These burgers can be frozen for up to 3 months.
