Ingredients
- 4 slices of white bread
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- 4 tablespoons of kaya (coconut jam)
- 2 eggs
- Soy sauce (optional)
- White pepper (optional)
Instructions
- Toast the slices of bread until golden brown.
- Spread butter on one side of each slice while still warm.
- Spread kaya generously over the buttered side of two slices.
- Place the remaining slices on top to form sandwiches.
- Cut the sandwiches into halves or quarters.
- Soft-boil the eggs by placing them in boiling water for about 5-7 minutes.
- Serve the kaya toast with the soft-boiled eggs, seasoned with soy sauce and white pepper if desired.
