Ingredients
- 1 whole duck (about 5-6 pounds)
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon Chinese five-spice powder
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 12-16 Chinese pancakes
- 1/2 cup hoisin sauce
- 1 bunch of scallions, sliced
- 1 cucumber, julienned
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Clean the duck and pat it dry with paper towels.
- In a small bowl, mix honey, soy sauce, Chinese five-spice powder, rice vinegar, and sesame oil.
- Brush the mixture all over the duck, ensuring even coverage.
- Place the duck on a rack in a roasting pan and roast for about 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the skin is crispy and golden brown.
- Let the duck rest for 10 minutes before carving.
- Serve the duck with Chinese pancakes, hoisin sauce, sliced scallions, and julienned cucumber.
Notes
- For extra crispy skin, air-dry the duck in the refrigerator overnight before cooking.
- Adjust the seasoning to taste, especially the five-spice powder.
