  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon paprika

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder


Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix buttermilk and hot sauce. Add chicken tenders and marinate for at least 1 hour.
  2. In another bowl, combine flour, paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large skillet to 350°F (175°C).
  4. Remove chicken from marinade, letting excess drip off, and dredge in the flour mixture.
  5. Fry chicken tenders in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
  6. In a small saucepan, melt butter and stir in cayenne pepper, brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder until combined.
  7. Brush the spicy butter mixture over the fried chicken tenders.
  8. Serve immediately with pickles and bread, if desired.
