Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup cheese (feta or farmer’s cheese)
- 1 cup mashed potatoes
- 1 cup shredded cabbage
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, water, vegetable oil, and salt to form a dough. Knead until smooth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- Divide the dough into small balls and roll each one into a thin circle.
- Prepare the fillings: mix cheese with a bit of salt, season mashed potatoes with salt and pepper, and sauté cabbage until soft.
- Place a spoonful of your chosen filling in the center of each dough circle.
- Fold the dough over the filling to form a half-moon shape and seal the edges.
- Brush each pastry with egg wash.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake the pastries for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
