Description

Moldovan Placinte is a traditional Eastern European stuffed pastry, often filled with cheese, potatoes, or cabbage, offering a delightful taste of the region’s culinary heritage.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1 cup mashed potatoes
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage
  • Salt and pepper to taste

  2. Divide the dough into small balls and roll each one into a thin circle.
  3. Prepare the fillings: mix cheese with a bit of salt, season mashed potatoes with salt and pepper, and sauté cabbage until soft.
  4. Place a spoonful of your chosen filling in the center of each dough circle.
  5. Fold the dough over the filling to form a half-moon shape and seal the edges.
  6. Brush each pastry with egg wash.
  7. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake the pastries for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
