Description

Mango Sticky Rice is a classic Thai dessert that combines the tropical sweetness of ripe mangoes with the creamy richness of coconut milk-infused sticky rice.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup glutinous rice
  • 1 1/2 cups coconut milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 ripe mangoes, peeled and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Rinse the glutinous rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. Soak the rice in water for at least 1 hour, then drain.
  3. Steam the rice for about 20-25 minutes until tender.
  4. In a saucepan, combine coconut milk, sugar, and salt. Cook over low heat until the sugar dissolves.
  5. Mix the cooked rice with the coconut milk mixture and let it sit for 30 minutes to absorb the flavors.
  6. Serve the sticky rice with sliced mangoes on top and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

  • Ensure the mangoes are ripe for the best flavor.
  • Adjust the sweetness of the coconut milk mixture to taste.
