Description

Korean Japchae Noodles are a delightful sweet-savory stir-fry dish made with sweet potato noodles, vegetables, and a savory sauce, offering a perfect balance of flavors.


Ingredients

  • 200g sweet potato noodles
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 carrot, julienned
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 100g spinach
  • 200g beef, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Boil the sweet potato noodles according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
  2. In a large pan, heat 1 tablespoon of sesame oil over medium heat. Add the onion, carrot, and bell pepper, and stir-fry until softened.
  3. Add the beef to the pan and cook until browned.
  4. Stir in the spinach and cook until wilted.
  5. In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, sugar, and garlic. Pour the sauce over the vegetables and beef, stirring to combine.
  6. Add the cooked noodles to the pan and toss everything together until well mixed.
  7. Drizzle the remaining sesame oil over the noodles and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  8. Season with salt and pepper to taste, then serve hot.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian version, omit the beef and add more vegetables or tofu.
  • Adjust the sweetness by varying the amount of sugar according to your taste.
