Ingredients
For the Rollups:
1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 tbsp ketchup
1 tbsp yellow mustard (optional)
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
4 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
Salt & pepper, to taste
1 egg (for egg wash)
For the Garlic Butter:
2 tbsp melted butter
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp chopped parsley (optional)
Instructions
Cook the Filling:
In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and chopped onion until browned. Drain any excess grease. Stir in ketchup, mustard (if using), and season with salt and pepper. Remove from heat, let cool slightly, then stir in cheese and crumbled bacon.Prep the Puff Pastry:
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry sheet. Spread the beef mixture evenly, leaving a ½-inch border. Roll it up tightly like a jelly roll, seam side down.Slice and Arrange:
Slice into 8 even pieces. Place cut-side up on a parchment-lined baking sheet.Egg Wash & Bake:
Brush tops with beaten egg. Bake for 18–22 minutes or until golden and puffed.Finish with Garlic Butter:
Mix melted butter, garlic powder, and parsley. Brush over hot rollups right after baking for that extra savory flavor!
Notes
Don’t overfill the puff pastry—it can cause messy leaks while baking.
Let the beef filling cool slightly before adding cheese to prevent melting it too soon.
Want to make them spicier? Add chopped jalapeños or use pepper jack cheese!
These rollups are freezer-friendly! Store baked or unbaked versions for later use.
Best reheated in an oven or air fryer to keep that flaky texture intact.
