- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 onion, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add the chopped onion to the beef and cook until the onion is translucent.
- In a baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes, followed by half of the beef mixture.
- Spread half of the cream of mushroom soup over the beef and potatoes.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, beef mixture, and soup.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 1 hour.
- Remove the foil, sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top, and bake for an additional 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- You can add other vegetables like carrots or peas for extra nutrition.
- For a crispy top, broil the casserole for a few minutes after adding the cheese.
