Description

Silky, cheesy comfort in minutes with this creamy garlic butter orzo, perfect for an easy dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup spinach, chopped
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups chicken or vegetable broth

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  3. Add the orzo to the skillet and stir to coat it in the butter and garlic.
  4. Pour in the broth and bring to a simmer. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the orzo is tender and the liquid is mostly absorbed, about 10 minutes.
  5. Stir in the chopped spinach and cook until wilted.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in the parmesan cheese and lemon zest.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste before serving.

Notes

  • For a creamier texture, add a splash of cream or milk before serving.
  • Feel free to add cooked chicken or shrimp for extra protein.
