Description

Cowboy Casserole is a savory and hearty dish featuring tater tots and ground beef, perfect for a comforting meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 can (10.75 ounces) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 package (32 ounces) frozen tater tots
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and chopped onion over medium heat until the beef is browned and the onion is tender. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Stir in the condensed cream of mushroom soup and sour cream into the beef mixture. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Transfer the beef mixture to a 9×13 inch baking dish. Spread it evenly across the bottom.
  5. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the beef mixture.
  6. Arrange the frozen tater tots in a single layer on top of the cheese.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
