Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup olives, sliced
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 package of pastry dough
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (392°F).
  2. In a large pan, cook the diced beef over medium heat until browned.
  3. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the pan and sauté until the onion is translucent.
  4. Stir in the cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper, and cook for another minute.
  5. Add the sliced olives, raisins, and beef broth to the mixture, and simmer for 10 minutes until the liquid is reduced.
  6. Roll out the pastry dough and cut into circles.
  7. Place a spoonful of the beef mixture onto each pastry circle.
  8. Fold the dough over the filling to form a half-moon shape and seal the edges.
  9. Brush the tops with beaten egg for a golden finish.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the pastries are golden brown.
