Description
This apple cinnamon crumble with oats is the ultimate cozy fall dessert—crispy on top, soft inside, and perfect with vanilla ice cream.
Ingredients
- 6 medium apples (peeled, cored, sliced)
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (cold, cubed)
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a baking dish.
- In a bowl, mix apple slices with lemon juice, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, and cornstarch.
- Transfer the apple mixture to the baking dish.
- For the crumble topping: combine oats, flour, brown sugar, and salt. Cut in the cold butter until crumbly.
- Sprinkle crumble evenly over the apples.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes until golden and bubbling.
- Cool slightly and serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
Notes
- Substitute pears for apples for a variation.
- Add chopped nuts for extra crunch.
